The big news is that Liz Phair is bringing her Exile In Guyville tour to Omaha. This is one of those shows that normally pass Omaha on their first run, and if they have legs and the artist wants to continue they could come here.
We got lucky on this one. Of course there is scuttle on whether the choice of venue is correct. I like standing at shows. I pass on some shows if they are reserved as I don’t like sitting for rock shows. It’s weird. I know some people need to sit, and it will probably be sooner than later that I need to sit also. Also, older people (my age) have gotten so chatty at shows-a reserved seat doesn’t allow you to move away from them. So, would I rather have this show in a standing venue and would I be more apt to attend that show? Yes. The artist and their management chose seated venues, and I am betting the reason is that their audience wants that and they know it. We may still think of a Liz Phair show through our 20 year old eyes. Her audience that bought that album are in their 50’s and they sit at shows.
This show will be at The Holland Performing Arts Center on December 5th
Tickets go on Sale Friday at TicketOmaha.com though I was able to pull up some of the up front seats today-maybe those are VIP.
